Barbie's New Story

“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Years Day.”

Every morning I find a message. A quote that will guide me, express my emotions, and even give me confidence and clarity. What better way to begin a New Year then by taking Edith Lovejoy Pierce’s advice. With each passing age and each drop of that gigantic crystal ball we embark on the next chapter of our very own epic tales. If you are a person like me you tend to need that blank and unknown space.

I was considering creating some recap of last year. But then I thought about my personal ‘Opportunity Novel’. And I realized this is 2009 and I will probably have many pen-worthy things to blog about. I mean who am I trying to kid, there’s always something.

I want to begin my story with a dedication. Every good author knows that it is the people in their life that inspire literary genious. These people provide the action, the adventure, the drama, and even the mundane scene of brushing ones teeth. These people cheer for you, love you, respect you, and hope for the very best. I dedicate my life to my family and very close friends. It is because of these very people that I here happy and healthy in 2009. I hope that each and every one of these special individuals, who know who they are, truly understand how much I appreciate them.

As I’m sure was expected I have constructed a completely sappy introduction to my quarter of a century year. I look forward to what is in store.
